The philosophy of ants you should try?

Philosophy for life and business

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

― Benjamin Franklin

Why Entrepreneurs should study ants?

It was a hot summer day, and I decided to get some ice cream (banana split). It was so good that I couldn't eat it fast enough But help was on the way.

It was so hot — it must have been 95°F.

The ice cream started melting, and if I didn't hurry, it would've turn into "soup". In my haste, I hear a sloppy splat!

I spilled the ice cream on the pavement. And — before I could clean up the mess, the troops moved in.

Troops?

Yes, ants! I'm sure you can relate.

All it takes is one ant to find food, and the work begins. All you can do is watch in amazement. This made me think about Jim Rohn's theory on why we should study ants.

I will share the philosophy behind studying ants — why it is important in life and business.

Part 1\ "Ants never quit."
Have you ever tried to block an ant? They don't stop, they keep finding away. I love this saying: "Over, under, around or through...whatever it takes, I'll do." I've applied this philosophy to life's challenges and business obstacles. Bottom line — You can't lose!

Part 2\ "Ants think winter all summer."
Ants operate with a sense of urgency. They always plan for the next season. When life is going well and business is thriving, what do you do? Are you thinking ahead or are you enjoying the moment?

Ants show us how to conserve and increase our pipeline for tougher times. I enjoyed long-term success in my consulting business. But long-term engagements don't last forever.

Here’s what happened…

The phone stopped ringing. Now it’s panic mode. I needed to replenish my pipeline fast! By pipeline, I mean leads and closed deals! It would have been easier if I was "thinking winter all summer".

Part 3\ "Think summer all winter." When times are tough and difficult, remember that a favorable season is coming. Use that feeling and emotion to propel you through.

The moral of the story is balancing the good and bad times. You know each season is around the corner. This is the essence of life and business: opportunity mixed with difficulty.

Take what’s yours!
