Unlock Explosive Audience Growth

The Freemium Secret: Unlock Explosive Audience Growth

Have you ever dreamt up a revolutionary business or product idea?

Join the club.

In fact, my brain is always seeking innovative ways to solve everyday problems.

But here's the hard truth...

Ideas are a dime a dozen.

Execution is where the magic happens.

Let's say we manage to put everything together.

You know, the LLC, website, MVP etc.

Congratulations!

But, not so fast!

Guess what fuels exceptional execution? An audience.

For the longest time, I was like a lone inventor tinkering away in the basement.

My brilliant ideas gathered dust because nobody knew they existed.

Then, I had an epiphany.

It wasn't enough to have a great idea, I needed to become an audience architect.

So, I started learning about marketing and studying other entrepreneurs.

But why?

Recently, I doubled down on my music software development.

Music has always been a passion and I leverage software to solve problems.

Why not marry the two together? Audio Software Development.

During my studies, I noticed that the successful entrepreneurs were great communicators.

I'm not referring to exceptional public speakers per say.

They're good at communicating their story and connecting with their audience.

That's one of the reasons I started this very newsletter. I wanted to share my story and improve my communication.

How am I doing so far? (wink)

On a serious note, there is one other facet to growing an audience.

It isn't enough to yell, "read my story", or "buy my product".

I needed to offer something of value ("The Freebie") in exchange for your attention.

To be honest. This was a hard pill to swallow.

Let me explain.

Some ideas take months to create and you’re telling me, I should "give them away"?

Think of it like this: If a tree falls in the forest and no one's around to hear it, did it still fall? Sure, the physics say yes, but the sound itself, that experience, needs an audience to exist.

My ideas without an audience to experience their value are whispers in the dark.

I could stop right there.

But hear me out...

Whether you're offering a freemium or a discount, building a customer (audience) database is key.

This can be an email list, private community, YouTube or social media tribe.

Here's the thing.

Do you want to be stuck in the “feast or famine” cycle?

Or would you like to press a button and generate sales on demand?

I've built products and released products only to work harder to market them.

During my studies, I watched a 17 year old queue up text messages to generate $50k in 10 minutes. (watch)

There are music producers selling sample packs earning $30,000 - $40,000 a month.

The list goes on and on.

The common thread: they built their email list and personal brand first.

They did giveaways, tutorials, free guides etc.

In exchange for free value ("freemium") their following and contacts list grew.

Whenever they had a promotion or a new drop, it was like printing money on demand.

As Dale Carnegie once said ― "People do business with people they know, like, and trust."

Your Challenge:

I want you to reflect on this and then ask yourself ― How many loyal people can my business contact right now?

I don’t know exactly where you are on your journey, but I share words of encouragement, lessons learned, and ideas to help you grow your business.

The Ultra-Targeted USP Formula: "The + For Who + Specific Benefit"

Why it's Powerful:

This USP formula takes your value proposition to the next level. It goes beyond simply highlighting a benefit and instead showcases a deep understanding of your target audience's specific needs and desires.

By incorporating details like location, desired outcome, problem-solving specifics, or emotional benefits, you connect with your audience on a deeper level, demonstrating that your product or service is the perfect solution for their unique situation.

Here's how it works:

  1. The + Product/Service: This clearly establishes what you offer.

  2. For Who: This defines your ideal customer with laser focus.

  3. Specific Benefit: This addresses the specific challenges, aspirations, or needs of your target audience. It can include:

  • Location: Tailored to a specific geographic area.

  • Outcome: Focused on a specific result the audience desires.

  • Problem-solving detail: Addresses a specific pain point or challenge.

  • Emotional benefit: Appeals to the emotional desires of your audience.

The result? A USP that grabs attention, resonates deeply, and compels your target audience to take action.

Examples:

  1. The AI-powered writing assistant: For busy entrepreneurs in San Francisco who struggle with writer's block and need to create high-quality content quickly for their growing businesses.

  2. The personalized online language courses: For students of all ages who want to learn Spanish for travel and want a focus on conversation so they can confidently order food and ask for directions.

  3. The organic, all-natural pet food delivery service: For pet owners in Los Angeles who care about the health and well-being of their furry companions with busy schedules who still want to provide the best nutrition for their pets and reduce the risk of allergies.
